The European Customs Information Portal is designed to help everyone involved in import, export and transit.

It is a service for business operators, in particular SMEs, in all Member States importing goods into and exporting goods from the EU, such as carriers, forwarders, importers and exporters.

The portal constitutes a single point of access to all relevant and practical information on importing goods into and exporting goods from the EU as well as on goods in transit.

It focuses on the Safety and Security Amendment to the Community Customs Code and related procedures, providing three main types of information:

• Animated customs scenarios guiding users through the import, export and transit procedures step-by-step;

• The relevant aspects of the EU Customs Union’s legal framework;

• Information and links from the Commission’s and EU Member States’ customs sites, including databases,

assistance services and eLearning resources.
